Over fifteen years ago the birth of the infamous and original 'Special' gave us an insight into how a water could be destroyed if
you had something the fish could not resist. Sadly, nothing good lasts forever. As the ingredients were discontinued, a few friends stocked up with every drop and granule
they could get their hands on. Neil went down a different path and looked into other ingredients that held similar properties. A couple of trial batches
led to what became the Mk2 Specials. As with the original, results came thick and fast and very soon close friends wanted to know what he was using.
It changed their fishing!
When Neil and his fishing partners first stepped onto Redesmere in 1996, they were put onto the main attractor in these pop-ups. It's a hard one to
better but they did manage to include a winning addition of two to 'tweak' it that bit more and so improved it slightly. Responsible for a
ridiculous number of big fish, the combination is special. It's an old favourite of theirs that they have used for many years. It does work
better on some waters than others, but how will you know until you try it. If it's a goer on your water, get ready for some serious results!
Pineapple pop-ups, the old original faithful single. The trouble is half the country was using them at one point, so Neil added a few other flavours that he
felt would mix and compliment, then put them to the test. That was back in 2005. He gave a tub to a friend who had no faith in
pop ups, before his session was over he became a convert and went on to turn his syndicate over year after year . It's a deadly and proven
combination of sharp 'zest' fruit flavours, which have been used to great effect on some of the hardest low stock waters.
Tropical Essence is available in yellow and orange.
A lot of people don't rate Strawberry as a flavour. Neil felt the same until one of his group proved him very wrong a good few years back with
this attractor package. They smell as a field of Strawberries should do, mouth-watering and fresh! It's a firm favourite and especially good on
deep waters. This is due to the blend of Strawberry flavours and oils that leak out up through the layers to the surface, sending out attraction
signals far and wide. A number of very big fish have fallen to this attractor combination; dismiss it at your peril.
This has stood the test of time and is nearly as old as the original Specials recipe. Using several fruit and dairy cream flavours,
it was a born winner from the very first batch. They were responsible for a number of big fish caught from the once mighty Redesmere where
they were tested. It was then taken to several other big fish waters around the country where once again the results proved it was up there
with our best combinations.
